TL;DR
A 5,200 sq. ft. restaurant designed across two floors to seat 156 guests, centred around a double-height courtyard. Hand-painted wall art across both levels becomes the visual anchor, tying the space together and turning dining into an immersive experience.

If you haven’t visited Saffron yet, you’re missing more than a meal.

More than a restaurant, Saffron was shaped as a spatial journey where design leads the narrative. Spread across 5,200 sq. ft., the space unfolds with intention, centred around a calm, double-height courtyard that draws in daylight and slows the pace.

A sculptural staircase defines this central volume, guiding movement while adding visual tension. Hand-painted wall art flows across both floors, becoming the visual anchor that ties the restaurant together.

The palette remains soft and restrained, allowing materials, textures, and craftsmanship to speak. Layered lighting, subtle foliage, and crafted furnishings bring warmth and balance, while a mix of semi-open and enclosed seating offers both openness and intimacy.

From the façade to the final nook, transitions feel curated rather than imposed. At Saffron, design goes beyond aesthetics, transforming dining into emotion and space into memory.

A customer walked into Saffron and left with a complaint, and honestly, we understand.

The staircase, the courtyard, and the lighting were too distracting for them to focus on the food.

They said every corner felt like a museum exhibit that demanded attention.They even forgot they were here to eat because the space looked that good.

And after all that they still booked a table for their next visit which says everything about the experience.

Filled with soft natural light, this seating area at Butter & Crust was envisioned as a sunlit sanctuary that blurs the line between indoors and out. The glass ceiling opens up to the sky, letting patterns of light and shadow drift across the beige-toned walls and warm wooden textures.

Every element was chosen to evoke calm and ease, from the gentle arches to the layered neutrals and natural wood grain. As the day unfolds, the space shifts from bright, golden afternoons to tranquil evenings where guests can dine beneath the stars.

Whether it’s sunlight streaming in or rain tracing delicate lines across the glass, this corner of the café was designed to make every moment feel beautifully complete.

This sunlit corner at Butter & Crust was imagined as a quiet escape where the glass ceiling opens to the sky and blurs the line between inside and out. Light moves across the soft beige walls and warm wood, shifting the atmosphere throughout the day.

Every detail feels collected with ease, from the arches to the muted tones and natural textures, all coming together to create a soft sense of calm.

By evening, the space turns gentle and serene, with people sitting under the open sky or watching the rain trace lines on the glass, and it feels like the moment is complete.

The space does most of the work and that was the whole point of this design. We wanted everything at Butter & Crust to feel natural and effortless.

The light comes in softly through the skylights and instantly makes every plate look good. The colours are calm and neutral, with warm wood and terrazzo adding just the right amount of texture.

Nothing here feels forced or overly styled, it’s all about creating a setting where the food stands out on its own. Every corner feels cozy and real, from the coffee counter to the quiet seating spots. The mood changes through the day, but it always stays warm and inviting.

It’s a space built to make simple things look beautiful without even trying.

Stepping into Butter & Crust, the first feeling we wanted guests to have was calm anticipation.

The seating area, placed just before the coffee bar, gently sets the tone for what comes next. Shades of beige, cream and soft browns flow through the furniture and finishes, creating a warm and inviting palette that pairs beautifully with the smell of fresh bread and pastries.

The seating is minimalist but textured, perfect for quiet conversations or a slow moment with a book, while soft lighting enhances the natural materials and tones in the space.Every detail, from the curves of the chairs to where each table sits, was thoughtfully chosen to guide visitors toward the heart of the café, the barista counter, without making them feel rushed.

It is a space that blends comfort with design, a quiet pause before the ritual of coffee begins.

Our recently project, Butter & Crust, in Belgaum is a café that feels like a breath of fresh air. Designed in soft creams and warm browns, every corner is carefully curated to feel calm and inviting. The open ceiling lets sunlight pour in, creating beautiful patterns of light and shadow across textured walls and wooden surfaces.

The spacious seating and thoughtfully chosen furniture make the café airy and comfortable, where every detail tells a story. From curved chairs to patterned tiles, the design balances warmth and sophistication effortlessly.

Diwali parties with friends are the invites we all eagerly wait for

If you’re planning one, here’s a little inspiration. This home is made for laughter, games, and catching up over festive treats. As guests step into the foyer walkway they’re greeted with fresh flowers and scattered rose petals, instantly setting a playful, celebratory tone. The open plan leading into the living area allows space for impromptu dances and intense conversations.

The dining table steals the show with a bold, vibrant tablescape accomplished by layering a lush velvet runner over an applique tablecloth, sculptural ceramics, and wildflowers in a statement leopard vase - a lesson in layering colours and crafts. Most of the artefacts are lovingly collected over the years, turning into conversation starters as we share the stories behind each piece.

A bar corner and snack section create spaces to mingle, while the living room becomes a games hub anchored by a comfortable sectional in handloom Ikat fabric and vintage elements, adding an eclectic and inviting vibe. Every corner is layered, playful, and marked by small details that speak to a life lived visually, making the home feel unique, and full of vibrant festive energy.

The Traditional Diwali you didn’t know you wanted.

As you enter, the smell of fresh chrysanthemums, marigolds flowers and mustard oil diyas instantly greets you, while the flower rangoli along the foyer walkway sets the tone for the festival.

In the living room, the dark blue sofa pops against green and yellow cushions, and flower garlands hanging on the curtains fill the space with festive charm. A cozy corner with a plant and brass vase, and sunflowers on the white table, add subtle bursts of color.

The aroma of evening coffee leads you to the dining room, separated by a wooden bookshelf, where the tablescape features traditional Mangalorean delicacies like Chakli, kodubale, holige, and payasa on a banana leaf,alongside Brass and Bharani jars inspired by rice winnowing baskets as subtle nods to tradition.

A Refined-Luxury Diwali✨…
As you step into this home, the neutral tones instantly set a serene, elegant backdrop. In the living room, glass & gold accents paired with jumilla roses, hydrangeas and jasmine set a classic & luxe mood.

The dining tablescape was similarly layered with hydrangeas & jasmines, bringing soft pastel pops against the predominant whites & gold and creating a festive table setting. A large leafy bouquet replicates the wall mural in the background for some necessary drama. And of course, we curated a mix of delicious sweets, fresh fruits, and dry fruits to complete the celebratory tablescape.

This Diwali, we set out to celebrate the idea that every home tells a different festive story. No two homes light up the same way — and that’s what makes each one special.

To bring this thought to life, we began with our founders’ homes, styling them for Diwali in a way that truly reflected who they are.

Much like the typical interior design process, we started by understanding how their celebrations connect to their roots — the memories, rituals, and warmth that make the festival theirs. From choosing decor that complemented their space to curating flowers that blended beautifully with their interiors, every detail was intentional and reflective of their aura.

Even the tablescapes were created with layers of texture, festive accents, and thoughtful elements — bringing together design and celebration in perfect harmony.

Through this creative journey, we were reminded that every home during Diwali is beautifully different in its own way.

What if every home could bloom in its own way this Diwali? As we walked through each space, the flowers almost chose themselves.

The classic homes called for disbuds, jumilla roses, and soft hydrangeas — elegant, timeless, and full of grace.The modern traditional ones leaned into lotuses, tuberoses, and chrysanthemums, a perfect blend of old-world charm and fresh energy.

The traditional setups glowed with marigolds, yellow chrysanthemums, sunflowers, and carnations — capturing the true spirit of celebration. And the eclectic ones? They came alive with Kalanchoe, snapdragons, and statice — a little wild, a little unexpected, just like their homes.

Can’t get enough of this design and the colours that define it.

Every corner of the master bedroom is layered with texture, tone, and thoughtful detailing. Muted shades meet bold accents, creating a balance of elegance and personality. From the upholstery to the finishes, each element was chosen to complement the whole. It’s a room where colour and form speak together, making the design feel cohesive and intentional.

Muted tones of warm natural wood, pale grey-mauve on the reading chair, and dusty blue curtains blend with textural details like ribbed wardrobe doors and patterned bedding, making the space cozy yet refined. Our goal was to create a hygge-inspired retreat where comfort, style, and quiet elegance coexist seamlessly.

In this home, every textile carries a memory of the couple’s roots. They wanted to feel closely connected to their hometowns, so we incorporated their heirloom and heritage fabrics, including sarees from Gujarat & Assam gifted by their mothers, into the wardrobe doors.

The vibrant textures and colours bring warmth and life, turning everyday spaces into a quiet celebration of home and heritage.

That’s exactly what Saanidhya became for us. Designing this house was all about capturing personality, heritage, and stories in every detail.

From the moment we stepped in, every corner spoke its own language—the living room with a Pichwai-inspired wallpaper that brings the walls to life, the ombré bookshelf that surprises you as you move through the space, and a dining table made from scratch exactly as our client had imagined, now holding countless family memories. The parents’ bedroom carries the warmth of their roots, making every night feel like a homecoming.

The guest room turns the visual expectations of a den on its head, by gravitating towards a soft grey palette - from the wardrobe to the embroidered wallpaper.

This is the designated space for IPL screenings, movie marathons, or afternoon naps, while staying true to the lightness of the home.

The wardrobe here is finished in soft grey PU with gold handles, which along with the beautiful wallpaper strikes a quiet luxury note without overpowering the purpose of the room.

The compact size never feels limiting—smart storage, layered textures, and clever detailing make it feel larger than life. We also used a tartan-inspired fabric for the wardrobe, a thoughtful nod to the son’s stay in Scotland.

Olavu - that holds the emotion this home was built on. It felt like the only name that fit a space so rooted in emotion and place.

The journey begins at the foyer, where a vintage-inspired partition sets the tone — traditional in spirit, but modern in presence.
